Well, you can't really sign up. And it doesn't cost anything anyways. If you want to email me in advance so we can roll out the red carpet...then I guess we'll get right on that. Don't expect any event merch to pretend to offset a bogus overcharge.
If you like the idea of a registration table being our favorite downtown, downstairs bar with no paperwork to fill out - then we'll see you at Zeno's at 8pm on Saturday night. An elite level coaching staff (of bartenders) will be available to guide you through your preparations for the event.
Is this another singlespeed event? I heard that s... was dead...
No on both counts - ride 'em if you got 'em but rest assured you'll suffer equally on whatever dumb bike you bring to the table. It's been a few years now since the great annual SS events in State College and we'll be striving to uphold their tradition of quality that keeps you kids coming back here begging for more.
Parking?
Do not try to park at the trailhead! Not that we're telling you what the loop is anyways...parking is extremely limited there and we are giving you this chance to see just how lucky we are to have an easy ride from downtown to singletrack!
While parking decks abound, we'll try to avoid bike-on-roof catastrophes by suggesting that ample on-street free parking will abound within blocks of Freeze Thaw (no charge at meters on Saturday after 6pm and all day Sunday).
Shameless plug for your bike shop?
Yes, please. We will be open later than usual on Saturday, 11am to 7pm. Check out www.freezethaw.com and succumb to your innermost desires to come to State College early enough to geek out on our fine selection of new and recycled bikes, parts and accessories. And if you realize last minute that you're frozen solid or your trusty steed can no longer be trusted, we'll do our best to help you out. While the ride leaves at 10am sharp, shop doors will open at 9am.
