There are always people out and about year-round (weather permitting), enjoying the multitude of awesome trails in our region. Some rides are regular and organized (see below), while others are adhoc.

 

Whether you are coming to the area for a day or a weekend and want to ride, or are local and want to ride with others or be shown some awesome trails, local riders are more than happy to show you around. Just post on our online forums to get hooked up with other MTB enthusiasts.

 

Here is a brief list of organized rides that we know about. You should also be able to find them listed in our calendar and on our front page under "Upcoming Events".

 

Organized Rides
Tuesdays, 5:30pm
(seasonal)
The Bicycle Shop Ride Group ride leaves from Tussey. See their website under the "Rides" link for more info.
Wednesdays, 6:00pm NMBA Group Ride leaves from Tussey. This is an intermediate/advanced ride for whoever shows that week. See this article for more info. Be sure to bring lights late in the season.

Thursdays, 6:00pm 

Beginner/Introductory MTB Ride. If you just want to poke around the woods on your own, there are trail maps of the local state forests in our maps section. Some of our members have also written down some of their more favorite rides, which you can find below. Enjoy!

 
Shingletown Gap

A nice double-loop in Shingletown Gap.  The first loop is Shingletown -> Sand Hole Springs -> Blue Knob -> Maguire.  The second loop starts there to Charcoal Flats back to the parking area.
