The best way to view the elk is on a mountain bike. You can cover alot of ground and get deep into the forest where you will see the wild elk. Elk, like most noble creatures, attack road bikes. Especially if the biker is in spandex. Like a bull charging a red cape, an elk is vicious toward a spandex wearing roadie.
We will be there right before the elk get hunted. Elk season is Nov. 5-10.
We can stay at my camp in St. Marys. No spa but there is a really nice spring that is still trickling in this drought and there is a beautiful outhouse.
