odd stuff - 2006/12/01 10:56So I tried posting to the Rides forum several times and was booted when I tried to submit. I have been able to post on the General Info forum, so it seems to be something just with the Rides one. Even odder, When I go to read the ride forum, it now doesn't show any recent posts (since 11/22) but on the main page it says that Rodney posted something on 11/29. I have tried several machines, I have tried refreshing the cache and I have been both logged in and out. Anyone else having grief?

Re:odd stuff - 2006/12/01 12:28I think that post from rodney was due to moving the long thread that started with Ray looking for people to ride with last Sunday from the shale pit, it got moved to the club only forum. not sure why you might not be able to post there though, maybe a hunter hacked in and is keeping us from doing it. and before this starts another long thread, I was just joking

Re:odd stuff - 2006/12/01 14:02I didn't know about this either! I got there by clicking on the icon to the right of Rodney's post on the ride forum. So what the hell else have I missed?

Re:odd stuff - 2006/12/01 14:15yep, I can post everywhere now except this mysterious "club only" forum which I can't get back to since Ray has posted a new thread. So what the hell is the secret handshake?

Re:odd stuff - 2006/12/01 14:41There should be a NMBA private forum show up at the bottom of the main forums page when you sign in and rodney has you as a member. sounds like there may be an issue there

Re:odd stuff - 2006/12/01 18:27All very odd, indeed.
Kevin, you mean my "Obligatory post" post? That was just to test to see if I could post, since Frank was reporting trouble. Ray is the one who moved the topic.
Aaron, the "private club forum" should appear at the bottom of the forums listing for all NMBA club "members". It is called "NMBA Members Private Forum" and will appear *only* if you are a designated member, which you are.
Frank, what exactly are you saying you got to by clicking on the icon to the right of my post? And what icon is that (I don't see one!)? And you too should be able to see the aforementioned forum.
I think ya'll are on crack.

Aaron P. Your account wasn't configured correctly. Now you should now see the private forum.
MEMBERS: Please visit the "NMBA Member List" on the left under "USER MENU" and let me know if there are people registered here that aren't in the list that you feel should be.
OTHERS: Please let me know if you don't see the "NMBA Member List" in the "USER MENU" on the left if you've paid dues to the club or are otherwise an honorary member.

Re:odd stuff - 2006/12/02 10:02Ray and I figured it out, sort of. As a publisher, my permission was different from everyone elses (I was the only Publisher listed). Ray changed me to "author" and I can see it now.

Re:odd stuff - 2006/12/02 14:11Ah ha! So that's how your account got changed. I was wondering about that.
So that prompted me to look at the forum configuration. Turns out that I misunderstood one of the configuration options that would've automatically let you have access the way your account was configured. It's fixed now, but I left your account the way it is.
Sorry about that.

Thanks for configuring me. I can now view the Private forum and see the member list. The member list seems kind of small. Where are Todd Denlinger and Rich Wertz? They have paid dues, post here, attend group rides, and log many hours of trail maintenance.

Re:odd stuff - 2006/12/04 17:45Ummm, don't know! I guess they fall under the category of me being ignorant and the club not having a membership policy.
In any case, they've been added, along with Ray Egolf.
