Tuesday Nite Bicycle Shop Ride Report - 2009/11/25 10:52
Though no one from the Bicycle Shop showed, Kev, Josh, and I held a pre-ride mystical circle and mentally contacted Grant who assured us that Croyle needed ridden.
We braved the drizzle and rode into the clouds wondering where we were and only stopping when our lights detected a signpost or other seemingly familiar object.
North Bear Meadows was eerie as the clouds thickened and we couldn't tell up from down. Disoriented at the top a mysterious rabbit led us to Croyle.
Croyle was an adventure. Even the dual lights from both Josh and Kev couldn't cut the fog. Rocks and logs and sudden turns appeared out of nowhere. Landmarks where non-existant until we hit the re-route. We had survived!
The travel back was especially brutal as the mud and dirt covered our gear and blinded us. Up into the clouds again on Bear Meadows we couldn't tell climb from descent save for effort on the pedals.
A quick time check nixed our Lonberger plans - we had to get clean and rock out. But the road provided ample time to test out the SOS feature of the Magicshine light. All in all another unforgettable ride.
