frank Damage summary - Sunday trail work needs list - 2009/10/23 08:57 OK, trying to compile what has been done so far and prioritize -
In order of need - "?" indicates we need some clarification.
1 - Lonberger between camp and Kettle, lots of saw work, yes?
2 - Tussey Mountain Extension untouched?
3 - Charcoal Flats?
4 - John Wert?
5 - Detweiler?
6 -Cooper's gap - it sounds like the low land gnomes have been out over there, any confirmation?

Please feel free to add any updates.

Little Shingletown
Old Laurel
tick trails?
musser gap
mid-state

Greenwood trails - Greenwood mtn was snow peaked on sunday so I imagine the trails will be bad.

IMO the lewistown group will get those trails.

frank Re:Damage summary - Sunday trail work needs list - 2009/10/23 16:11 Thanks for clearing that up donna, I had understood you all had worked the worked the other way (Up to the camp from Spruce gap). Glad I started this.
Ho, I am trying to focus on where we can reasonably plan to get to on Sunday. Musser is pretty low priority ( I am guessing Nabil will tackle it when he is back) and Tick land has actually been pretty well cleaned up. And the mid state has its own army, as we have discussed before.

gregh Re:Damage summary - Sunday trail work needs list - 2009/10/23 19:39 Ho and myself cleared the large hang up on upper Longberger, as well as a waist high fall.near the log ride.
John Wert is nasty, we cleared several large limbs that required a saw almost a mile in.Turned around just after the first camp site.
We didn't make it to lower Longberger past Kettle

Jim G Re:Damage summary - Sunday trail work needs list - 2009/10/25 00:24 Low lying trails may be under water - there's a ton of water in the forest. We saw runoff today in places that we've never seen it before. Kayaking may have been possible along Beidleheimer road.

Yoda Re:Damage summary - Sunday trail work needs list - 2009/10/25 16:28 I hit Bald Knob Ridge, Sand Spring Re-route, Clemons and Lower today and all is now well in the world...or at least Shingletown...from other trailwork reports Charcoal is open as well...I had also cleared some on there several days ago and the trail leading up from the reservoir was clear exept for one big fall but it should have been removed today

frank Re:Damage summary - Sunday trail work needs list - 2009/10/26 08:26 Thanks everyone for coming out, we had 25 folks out to clear the trails!
From all the reports, It sounds like Shingletown, Lonberger, and John Wert are totally clear (although under water) and Tussey Ext is clear with the exception of about 6 logs between the gasline and the turn to the first switch back.
No reports yet from Cooper's Gap, but it sounds like the forest is in pretty good shape.
