frank pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/26 19:41 Seriously, can we keep these things short and to the point? 3 pages to see what has been done is too much.
The bottom of telephone is clear. Top of telephone could use brush work. There is a plan brewing for doing an evening on Croyle this week, possibly Monday.
So it sounds like Sassafras (both upper and lower) and Lewistown Contingent are in good shape? Pontzer got to Beautiful a few weeks ago. Jim Mathews was the man on Lonberger, so thats good. Anyone been down Little Shingletown?
Anything to report from Bald Eagle?

DarthMyers Re:pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/26 23:30 LMAO
-entire telephone is perfect as of today at 1pm.
-little shingletown is clear thanks to the HOsaw, high grass in spots but not bad
-croyle just has the one downfall closer to bottom. IMO i don't think it needs to be cut.

jmblg Re:pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/27 09:54 Mike, could you help us do little shingletown? i'll rent the brush cutter, having a truck to put it in would be alot easier than our small sav.

jmblg Re:pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/27 09:55 Frank, Little Poe had a branched tree downfall in mid June. Maybe halfway down. Would require chainsaw

frank Re:pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/27 10:57 Thanks Jim, I think that Chris Scott got the tree on Little Poe last week, he brushed it out.

EndosRFun Re:pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/27 13:01 I thought you guys might like to know there is an extremely large tree down just in from the gate on Detweiller off Bear Meadows road. It was still there as of Saturday around 2:00 PM. Walked up to check it out as I heard you could ride around it but I don't see how that would be possible. You can't ride over it, under it or around it. It is a massive tree which will take some serious work to remove or even cut a path through it.

frank Re:pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/28 22:05 Tree on Detweiler is gone and Croyle is a super highway.

herrhaus Re:pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/29 08:53 Bridge over Greens Valley Stream on Stillhouse at switchback.....

As I posted earlier, it needs (3) 10' 2x6's, cordless drill, and some deck screws. Will DCNR allow vehicle access pre-race to fix?
Chuck Norris once broke the land speed record on a bicycle that was missing its chain and the back tire.

frank Re:pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/29 14:51 Unfortunately, that bridge has been that way for years and isn't really in the scope of something we want to tackle. Chris always rigs something.

dfhkvs Re:pre-101 work, non book length post. - 2009/07/29 14:54 Sweet job on Croyle. How about showing the same love to some other overgrown trails? It was awesomely fun to bomb down croyle and actually be able to SEE.
D.
