Allen Ole Bull - 2009/06/28 17:50 http://www.ticoridgeriders.com/

This is a 12-hour race.
I've been doing it for the last two years.
This would be a good way to show your support for the state parks.
They put a lot of time and effort in to this and the numbers are going down every year.

PeterEvolves Re:Ole Bull - 2009/08/05 09:04 I might do this solo or if someone wants to do a duo. Why don't these guys get a single speed category? Come on now.

Allen Re:Ole Bull - 2009/08/18 17:17 The race course was great. 4 miles of climbing to start with the normal road them a gas line it was brutal. Then the fun began a slight up hill single track. That could be big ringed. Then a piece of slight down hill piece of single track, a little road then the fastest piece off down hill single track. They actual left a couple of down falls on it to keep riders in check 35+ MPH. Attendance was a little low. But every one there had a great time. Fastest lap was a 1:08:27. Most laps 9. The team I was on did 8. I had a 1:16 the first lap with a flat four rider back and a 1:13 the second lap. The laps were 14 miles.
Fastest team only had 2 riders. The single track was very smooth with some roots. Road the Blur.

acr140 Re:Ole Bull - 2009/08/18 23:08 I agree with Alan, the race course was much better than in years past. A nice mix of trails. The gas line climb was a killer. I was the slow guy on our team with my first lap at 1:30 and my night lap at 1:40. I was actually the last rider on the course, finishing my last lap at around 11:45pm. Attendance this year was low. Hopefully the new course will attract some more riders next year. The prize selection was great, they were giving away Nite Rider light systems, Club Jerseys (Tico Ridge Riders Bike Club), and a whole assortment of other cycling gear. Probably the best thing about this race is that it is held at Ole Bull State Park that has modern shower facilities etc, so you can clean up between laps, and your friends/family can camp while you race. The Park staff is really laid-back during the race weekend which is always nice.
