stinatoll Cooper's Gap rideable this wknd? - 2009/03/06 11:42 Do you think Cooper's Gap will be rideable this weekend.

From previous posts, it sounds like it is, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Thanks,

kevinb Re:Cooper's Gap rideable this wknd? - 2009/03/06 13:28 From what Ive ridden and put together from others everything is good with the possible exception of Lingle valley but we are gonna try it saturday anyways.
Your biggest obstacle will be getting to coopers gap from the sounds of it. My plan is to go in via allen segar road and stone creek road. sounds like bear meadows road on the far side of the mountain maybe still icy. Also sounds like stone creek road from 322 is pretty rutted out with snow/ice, might be tough in a passenger car. a few weeks ago we parked at the bottom of coopers gap road on the milroy/reedsville side and rode up to longcut on our bikes, its just a half mile.

jmblg Re:Cooper's Gap rideable this wknd? - 2009/03/06 13:57 the switchback on bear meadows road after bear meadows going to wampler from bear meadows was an ice rink from one end to the other, no lines, and you had to deal with the camber and turn. we made easy going up, but didn't want to risk it coming back (down). i don't expect it to be frozen tomorrow after today (tomorrow is always after today.....)
