sspiff22 Deadfall on Lower Shingletown - 2008/09/18 19:17 I came across two separate fallen trees yesterday...rather large too. The first one, traveling from Shingletown towards Tussey, is at about the midpoint on the trail. It's still fairly green, 14-16" maple, if I recall...definitely chainsaw fodder.

The second one is right around the bridge, about 2/3 of the way back towards the trailhead off of Laurel Run Rd. Two 8 inch branches, kind of rotten...probably could be done with a pack saw of some kind.

I just wanted to alert the proper authorities. Next time I go out, I'll take my collapsible saw for the smaller deadfall if it's still there. The bigger one I don't have the equipment for, but I'm willing to help if it's needed.
