interesting weekend for wildlife.
Saturday I got to watch, for my first time ever, a gobbler mate a hen. And right in the middle of a forestry road. He didn't really care that we were there. It was almost like being at the drive-ins, minus the popcorn of course.
Monday my wife and I took the dogs for a bike ride on a gated forestry road. " So if i bring the dogs up here by myself, is there anything i need to worry about?" says her.
" The only thing might be a rattlesnake" replies I. DING-DONG! DING-DONG! JINX! JINX! DING-DONG!
We ride another 400 yards and there's Mr. rattlesnake sunning himself on the road. My wife didn't find him as handsome as I did and quickly informed me that i could just forget the idea of her riding up there by herself. Silly girl.
