kevinb Raystown trail work day - 2008/04/01 20:50 There is a trail building volunteer day at Raystown Lake Saturday, April 12 at 9:30 am meeting at the Susquehannock Gate in the Seven Points
Area. Take Seven Points Road off of Rt 26 then turn left onto Baker Hollow Road. The entrance to Susquehannock Camp Ground is a mile or so
down the road on the right.
We will mainly be trail finishing and possibly some corridor clearing. Please bring chainsaws in case we do clearing.
We will have food on site so please get back to Clark Fisher by Wednesday, April 9 if you can make it on April 12 so we have enough to feed everyone.

hodog Re:Raystown trail work day - 2008/04/07 09:05 I'm going - anyone else? They fed us pretty good in the fall. We can do a ride afterwards.

hodog Re:Raystown trail work day - 2008/04/08 16:21 Anyone...Bueller...

Let me know by Wednesday if you want to eat. I'm sawing, then a bunch of us are biking the trails and we'll probably 'scout on bikes' the cliffs trail. Too cold to swim yet. Then off to J-town to the LHORBA (home of the flaming sprocket!) meeting.

kevinb Re:Raystown trail work day - 2008/04/08 16:44 I may go, but need to head back here afterwards, no flaming sprockets for me. If theres a sandwich for me, great, if not, ill survive. I know, I sound like pontzer now, cant make a decision

frank Re:Raystown trail work day - 2008/04/08 23:22 Ho, you can use the clubs chaps and helmet again if you need to. It is supposed to be a requirement of the volunteer days to have full safety gear, although I am not sure how strictly its enforced. Better safe than sorry.

hodog Re:Raystown trail work day - 2008/04/14 10:45 7 brave souls faced the harsh sunshine and heat to toil on the trails of Raystown on Saturday. That included Clark and Allen. Another ranger showed up and worked during her lunch hour. Needless to say the 'Corps' was disappointed by the turnout. So please try to attend the next day in May. I rode for an hour afterwards and didn't cover it all - no road or double track. It's coming along great.

i will, however, take the time to offer up my thanks for the 7 people who did put forth their efforts on the trail.

mattd Re:Raystown trail work day - 2008/04/16 01:00 I wish I could have made it out, I would like to see these trails. Hopefully one of these days there will be a trailwork day down there on a day when I am not far away taking pictures of trees.

frank Re:Raystown trail work day - 2008/04/16 15:58 Matt, the next trail work day is May 18th. There will be a Trek Demo there as well in the afternoon so you can break some else's bike on the trails.
As I am intimately familiar with many of the trees down there, I could steer you towards some real pretty ones to take pictures of. Or I could send you into the Multi-floral rose hell that is most of the place.
