hodog Nittany MBA Charity - 2006/09/07 11:55 I was wondering if our club ever thought about helping out a charity. I know other clubs have fundraisers for like the March of Dimes, etc. I think it would be cool to have one event a year - maybe a day of rides - and raise money for some group in need.

Actually Centre ARC or ARC of Centre county asked us last summer to do a charity group ride, didnt work too well, but this year we were thinking about turning the spring/greenwood furnace group ride into a charity ride to benefit them. ask for a donation as well as do a swag ticket deal. The ARC can also help do some publicity and hopefully we end up with somemore members.

I'm a race director of a 5K race in Saxton, PA. The race is in May. The race will benefit the American Cancer Society. We are always looking for race sponsors to help pay for the cost of T-shirts, awards, etc. For a $20 sponsor donation we put the group/organization/company name on the back of the t-shirt. We're always looking for more sponsors for this event. If we end up with more sponsor money than what we need, we just donate anything extra to the American Cancer Society. All proceeds go to ACS. I know it's a running event and not a biking event, but I thought I would throw the idea out there.

stick Re:Nittany MBA Charity - 2006/11/21 21:25 Sweet. Let me know if you need any more info. This will be the second year for this race. It's called the Warrior's Path 5K (because it's held at Warrior's Path State Park). I'll post more info on here when we get everything finalized. Right now it looks like it will be Saturday, May 5.
