princess HO and Yoda - bad boys! - 2007/09/05 23:25 gentlemen, i know you are good people and i'll help you guys out with a lot of projects, but the far end of bald knob ridge is not in need of work. i heartily hope that people refrain from altering that trail, as it is one i've not cleaned yet. i remember a few years ago meeting some crazy redhaired guy that worked for howie and discussed how i thought that trail needed work and he asked me to leave it as it was. several years later, i understand where he was coming from.

however, let's go make some fun stuff in black mo, eh?

i'm serious, i want to get out there. find a time to schedule it and give me a little notice.

i love you guys! (posative affirmation)

Yoda Re:HO and Yoda - bad boys! - 2007/09/05 23:52 I'm with you on that one man, Bald Knob is truely "cleanable", I've witnessed it's potential firsthand. Although I have yet to achieve the level of technical skill, of Princess and Todd, it's fun to have trails that put you in your place and give you something to work for. Although I can not take credit for any of the work I am guilty of conspiring to alter Bald Knob Ridge but very little rockwork has been done mostly just blow-downs being removed to make it enjoyable again.

As for Black Mo/Rock Run areas lets go play. Pontzer has a nice slab of acid rock that we can start with.

hodog Re:HO and Yoda - bad boys! - 2007/09/06 09:55 Don,
I did very little rock work on bald knob. I filled in spots on the flats so they rolled better and plugged some holes to develop alternate lines. I also helped a few of the ramps. On the downhill I put rocks in front and back of all the logs to make it safer as most the logs are pretty much hidden.

princess Re:HO and Yoda - bad boys! - 2007/09/10 23:50 it's not too bad. you didn't rip anything apart so i'll forgive you.

what i was worried about was continuing work. i noticed a couple of the gaps that were filled in and the rocks at the logs. one of the filled in sections broke through on me and dumped me, so it's really just as sketchy as before.

just making sure there wasn't any further plans for it in store. well, i've got some, but they don't change the trail, just add some more options.
