frank Trails for the Stoopid 50 - 2007/06/03 19:36 I rode about 1/2 of the stoopid route today and the trails are in really good shape. Thanks everyone who has been getting out to clear stuff.
Is anyone around tuesday morning and interested in getting out to do some final clearing of stuff? I was going to hike up Sassafras with the brush cutter so it wouldn't be so heinous, or perhaps mildly less so. There are still a few logs on Indian between Shittaka and flat road and so low hangers on indian off of stone creek road. Does anyone know of anywhere else?

hodog Re:Trails for the Stoopid 50 - 2007/06/05 22:28 I got Pigpile in shape for Sunday. I removed a log, built a ramp, fixed 2 ramps, and cleared some tree tops from the trail. Though I only went to the gas line. Then I went down Telephone to Wallace and realized the map has Alexander on it. Are we turning onto Alexander? It has a huge tree down 50 yards from the intersection. I doubled back and dropped Wallace to Broad Mtn Road. The grass and brush is high on all these trails, there are lots of hidden rocks and logs waiting to jump up a bite a racer. It will be easy to miss a turn/get lost. I really had no clue where I was. I may drop the MST on Sunday...

frank Re:Trails for the Stoopid 50 - 2007/06/05 22:32 I got out today and got the logs off of Indian between Shittaka and Flat Rd, ran the brush cutter the length of the bench on Sassafras, and cleared two trees and some scrub stuff off of Wallace. I think the rest of the trails are in good shape.

frank Re:Trails for the Stoopid 50 - 2007/06/05 22:34 We are not going down Alexander. We are riding Wallace all the way to broad Mtn Road, then coming back on Spencer. Wallace is in way better shape than Alexander.
Thanks for getting Pigpile.

hodog Re:Trails for the Stoopid 50 - 2007/06/06 08:45 My bad, I had an 'original' version of the map with the route going down Alexander. Wallace is pretty fun but will be easy to loose near the bottom. Am I correct that you are adding in ChickenPeter instead of doing the road between top trail and chesnut springs?

frank Re:Trails for the Stoopid 50 - 2007/06/06 10:55 I have to speak to wertz about it. Hopefully I will be able to ply him with the right lubricants to make it happen.
