Death Chainsaw required on Old Laurel - 2007/04/12 18:14 There is a tree leaning over Old Laurel Run Trail about 3/4 of the way down where the trail starts to become "less steep". It's passable at low speed, but should be removed. Will require more than beginner chain saw skills.

hodog Re:Chainsaw required on Old Laurel - 2007/04/13 11:15 Rodney is it leaning or 'hung up' on another tree?

Death Re:Chainsaw required on Old Laurel - 2007/04/13 11:38 It's a dead tree, about 10" at the trunk, leaning at about 45 degrees. The last 5 feet are hung up in another tree. Will require a top cut and then an undercut. It should drop just enough to still be hung up but off the trail.

dmatlin Re:Chainsaw required on Old Laurel - 2007/04/15 17:21 I went hiking today and cut this sucker out, along with some more minor deadfall on Old Laurel. 'Tis all clear, and no chainsaw required. Oh, and I'll be sure to fill out the trailwork log...
