SandwichStuff Thickhead Mountain Deadfall....again. - 2006/09/16 11:15 I noticed on my ride today that someone did a great job of cleaning up the deadfall on Thickhead Mountain along with the shorter passage that leads to Penn Lookout.

However, at the top of Thickhead right as you can turn left to go to the old fire tower, there is another tree down. It has fallen very recently. You can currently walk and cycle over it without any trouble - but it has 5 or 6 major branches spread over the entirety of the passage. I cleaned up the stuff I could move by hand, but the tree at some point (not urgent) will require attention.

Thanks to whomever cleaned up the larger stuff on Thickhead. It is nice not to have to dismount anymore!

jwh128 Re:Thickhead Mountain Deadfall....again. - 2006/09/16 12:59 Speaking of the Penn Lookout trial, I rode up it today since it was clear and at the end where the little fire circle is, there looks to be an overgrown trail heading in the general direction where the tower platform is at the top of Thickhead. I didn't explore it since SandwichStuff was waiting for me elsewhere, but does anyone know if it does, in fact, connect Penn Lookout with the Thickhead tower area and, if so, if it's ridable?
