princess upper lonberger - 2006/10/25 19:03 this trail is a mess. there are about a dozen widowmakers along it. also that collossal deadfall (somehow there's two really big ramps at either end of it now) will probably need trimmed at the root end.

but there does need to be serious work done to get rid of the widowmakers. there's one section that looks like a spider's web of them. if one goes, they are all probably going to go.

Raymo853 Re:upper lonberger - 2006/11/07 12:55 I like that log thing, except for the exit ramp when going from North Bear Meadows road. There is a rock at the end beyond my comfort level you have to pop over or go around. The comfort thing is because I am very bad at un-weighing the front wheel while going downhill.

Jim G Re:upper lonberger - 2006/11/07 18:54 This should be less of a problem now that you've given up the baby wheels.

princess Re:upper lonberger - 2006/11/07 22:04 Raymo,

put your eyes and your wheel 2 inches to the right of that rock and keep your weight back.

in the beginning, i laid that out to have much steeper on/off ramp angles, but have since been seeing the error of that.

on one has gone wrong by staying right of that rock.

hodog Re:upper lonberger - 2006/11/10 08:53 I rode it yesterday - Good JOB! I took way too much speed into it and was accelerating by the time I got to the end - FUN! The other way I still couldn't find a lower line, so I did the upper line and had to 'shoulder-dab' the tree. I give this log ride the good HO's-keeping stamp of approval.

princess Re:upper lonberger - 2006/11/10 17:01 always nice to be loved by HO.

going from n meadows to kettle, it definitely picks up speed. i've also had to give that tree a little buck rub in the other direction.
