SteveF Re:trail conditions - 2009/01/01 14:38 Started at the bottom of Cooper's Gap in Reedsville where the blacktop ends and road Lewistown Extension, Sassex, Indian, lower Shitalka, and Sand Hole. Despite not having studded tires we were able to ride on the shoulder of Cooper's Gap Road w/o incident. The trails were mostly snow covered but very ridable (including the bridges) except for the short steep hills on the extension and the trail was quite hard to follow on Sassex. Also the one part of Sand Hole had quite a bit of run off but was still ridable. Cooper's Gap Road remains a sheet of ice. Hope this picture on the Lewistown Extension isn't too big.

Scott C Re:trail conditions - 2009/01/02 06:32 Rode the following loop near Greenwood yesterday: Spencer, Sassafras, Seeger, Telephone. There's a lot of southern exposer on this loop so there was mostly just a fresh dusting of snow on the lower half with a little crunchy stuff on the upper half. Seeger has a good bit of ice but should be passible without studs (I was riding studded tires).

I did the outside ones. What are you lining your tires with?

When people are following you and forget you have studs you hear a lot of strange sounds behind you.
