Re:Extension interim proposal - 2008/11/05 13:31
frank,
no less oxygen, just more carbon monoxide.
as for the bench yes, the extension was prior to tuxedo. but when you look at the bench on the extension, your first exposure to it, is in a section where the bench simply put isn't the greatest. it rides fine, despite having crept a foot or more downslope. but honestly, it wasn't the highest quality bench cut we've ever seen. whereas when you look at the section of bench at the bottom of tuxedo, it screams "hey we know what we're doing, and this is how it's done!" i really just see a lot of improvement in the quality of work that we've managed to accomplish as we've gotten more experience with it. that was the compliment i was after. i'm looking forward to the same level of quality on future benchcut endeavors. it makes me smile.
and i've had this connection idea since we routed the original extension, only then it was just to the bottom of kettle. admittedly though it was with the intent of dropping kettle, reichly and or shingle and climbing back up the extension. that isn't anyone's favorite climb and when tuxedo went in, then i thought, why not take it a bit further? and do it the other direction. but just like long mountain, it is an a$$load of work. hard work.
