NMBA will be holding it's very first fundraiser, a comedy club event, on Friday, April 6th, at Celebration Hall in State College. There will be two headliners and an MC. The one headliner, Chris Coccia, is a mountain bike enthusiast, which couldn't be more perfect! Additional co-headliner is Mike Burton. You can read more about each of them through the links attached below. The proceeds generated from the event will go towards purchasing tools and equipment for trail work, most notably the Galbraith Gap trail project that is tenatively scheduled to begin later in the year, and other upcoming NMBA events. This will be a huge fundraiser for NMBA! With that being said, not only do we need everyone to purchase a ticket for themselves and their significant other, but to encourage your friends, families and co-workers to come out for a fun night to help support something we all love! Tickets will also be available for purchase at FreezeThaw and The Bicycle Shop.
During the event, there will also be a silent auction. So far, sponsors and donors include: The Bicycle Shop, FreezeThaw Cycles, Videon Central, Hildebrand Chiropractic, CrossFit Nittany, Chuck Kurtz, Howie Shultz, Dragonfly Therapeutic Massage, Selins Grove Brewing, Mary Ann Hanlon, Mary Jane and Tom Kistler, Tussey Mountain Ski Resort and Erik Scott. All proceeds from the silent auction will go directly to NMBA!
Tickets are $15.00. The doors will open at 6:00pm for a social hour where attendees can enjoy light appetizers while bidding on items for the silent auction. The comedian show will begin at 8:00pm. A full cash bar will be available for the evening.
We really need each member to sell a few tickets to make the most of this event! If there are people who can't make it that night (April 6th) they can still buy tickets to support NMBA and then use the tickets for any other 2012 showing (except the Amish comic show on March 2nd & 3rd)!
So, buy a few tickets, sell a few tickets, and come out for a fun night to support NMBA!
Thanks!
Terri

Rothrock State Forest has put out what they hope to be an annual newsletter (the first since 2005), and NMBA (and FOCG) has received considerable recognition on Page 6, thanks to Jacob Mazzei, Recreational Forester. Please take the time to view the Newsletter here.
In 2011, members of NMBA volunteered for a total of 1900 trail hours, an extremely significant amount compared to other volunteer groups! Thank you to the members of NMBA for your dedication to the trails we all love to ride!
